The Music Icon Plays a Hell Version of Her Own Identity in Mockumentary Preview

The Grammy-winning artist is preparing for a major film presence in 2026, beginning with the satirical film titled The Moment.

Within the project, the artist portrays what she calls as a hell version of her public image.

It’s the truest representation of the music industry that I’ve ever encountered, Charli stated.

She further explained in a conversation: It’s far from a live performance documentary, yet the concept originated from the pressure to create one.

A Sneak Peek into The Film

The debut trailer, launched on this week, combines authentic footage from her live performances with imagined behind-the-scenes moments.

The film is directed and co-written by her collaborator, who explained that the story revolves around a world where Charli made entirely different choices during the marketing of her smash hit album Brat.

A Hectic Acting Schedule

This project is a single one of many upcoming film appearances for the musician, who has featured in three cinematic festival entries this year.

Furthermore appeared as herself in the comedy series Overcompensating.

Upcoming Projects

The coming year will also feature Charli together with Olivia Wilde in romantic thriller I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in gallery suspense The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in terror reimagining Faces of Death.

Additionally, she agreed to star in Dakota Johnson’s maiden directing project A Tree in Blue.

I’m thoroughly loving my cinematic path, the performer expressed. I feel very, very inspired currently in that field, and I only ever choose to take on projects that excite me.

Soundtrack Involvement

February will also bring the release of Emerald Fennell’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase original songs from Charli.

She is also set to create the soundtrack for the drama Mother Mary, featuring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, planned for launch in the coming year.

The mockumentary is set to premiere on January 30.
