Jurgen Klopp states coming back to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that returning someday remains a possibility. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing near-decade reign featuring Champions League success and the Premier League crown in 30 years, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer within the Red Bull organization and providing guidance for the DFL.

Fan Sentiment and His Frank Comments

They secured the league title last season, yet numerous supporters who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the idea of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he told his interviewer: “I declared I won't manage a different club on English soil. Which implies in case it's my former club...absolutely. In theory, it could happen.”

“At 58 years old, so the choice could be mine later on, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. But thank God, I don’t have to do that. I'll simply watch how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on what circumstances would have to unfold to bring him back to the touchline, he revealed he feels no immediate pull toward coming back. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he commented. “No longing for management; I avoid standing under bad weather through long matches; I'm glad to skip interviews four times, three times a week or doing numerous chats each week.

“The locker room isn't missed as a dressing room, but sitting in a restaurant with the players having a nice chat, I appreciate that. We won a lot of games so there was often a very good mood in the building. I still have the captain's chuckle vividly recalled to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended regarding Arne Slot, praising him for the tweaks that won the league last campaign. They've been defeated four in a row in every contest post heavy investment, though he denied the suggestion of it representing the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. He’s an incredible talent. [Hugo] Ekitike, superb talent. It’s a really good well-judged squad. You don’t have to worry over the club, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally on the loss of Jota, a player he signed while in charge, along with the consequences on Liverpool. Jota was killed in a vehicle collision with his brother this past summer.

“Who can fill the void of such an individual? It goes beyond his footballing ability, it's his character. I struggle to conceive the team environment absent his presence. I find it difficult to discuss on this topic. A devastating blow for the entire squad as well. Nobody at Liverpool might employ it to justify results though it's a fact. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Dealing with that individually is challenging. Impossible.”
