Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slams this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her remaining competitions of the year as a result of a medical condition she has been battling in recent days.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

Raducanu had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match against Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Her movement was far from freely in the final set in the match with Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern during parts of the season.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

She secured twenty-eight matches during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in in the coming months.

She mentioned that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
