British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
