The tenth week again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many fans into the NFL

That result could have created opportunities for the New England Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a schedule that provides them an edge over their 8-2 rivals

Meanwhile in the NFC the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a bad day for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer

The Bills had won seven in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and display

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third period and first points in the final quarter - yes Miami had ten days to prepare but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores

Bottling up the league's best running game was also key, with Cook and teammates recording just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the year and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5-yard average

Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area resulting in a nine-minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins turned into seven points just two plays

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defense and Josh Allen attempting to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the composed, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've seen this season

The Dolphins have served up a varied performances this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East

Spotlight - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place

Regarding the New England, they're among three different eight and two squads in the league, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the best?

One could pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined 24 victories coming against opponents with a winning record - and one example was the Indianapolis defeating the Denver

The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indy can ride Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their primtime success in Buffalo appears to be a statement

Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight wins, just like Denver, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was significant

Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he definitely deserves credit for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his team to victory

The defensive unit is solid and first-year running back Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this year on his first score

While you can argue who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to finish with the best record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a successful opponent, although a significant contest against the Bills

Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also challenge for first place but face the same problem) and also the Packers on the fixture list

The Colts also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There's a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is open for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference

Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Clash

Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different 8-2 teams are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Los Angeles, who each scored 40 burgers to go to seven and two before next week's major meeting between the two in LA

They've both won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a game

Each could realistically be undefeated as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play blocked and returned by the Eagles for a score

Seattle also lost to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the game against the Buccaneers - so they are genuinely among the best sides in the NFL

The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year so far
